The
Hayloft Barn was designed with the square dancer in mind and provides a wonderful
dance experience. If you or your club needs a venue for that special
occasion, consider the Hayloft Barn.
Rental includes a number of trestle tables in an
area where dancers can rest and snack between dances. We do ask that
dancer respect a few simple guidelines.
No bare feet or rubber soles on the dance floor
Food is restricted to the table area
Please do not use powder or wax on shoes or floor

No, this isn’t a mistake loading the camera. This
is a picture of our famous floating floor, or at least a mockup of it. And
just what makes it a floating floor?
Here is a worm’s eye view of the same floor as
above. Those black squares are rubber cushions spaced every sixteen inches
apart. The entire floor “floats on these blocks giving the floor a firm but
resilient surface on which to dance that is easy on the feet.
This view shows the wooden flooring laid on top of
plywood sub-flooring. The plywood rests on 2x4 stringers which in turn are
laid flat against the rubber blocks. What you can not see here is the
concrete floor that was layered with a quarter inch of rubber that supports
the whole structure.
